Sleeping in Snacks: A Chick Named Aurora

From the moment our batch of chicks arrived, we knew we had a few characters in the mix. Tiny fluffballs peeping, scratching, and stumbling around DIY set up like little wind-up toys.

But one chick stood out almost immediately—the one who didn’t just eat the food…
She slept in it.
Curled up, belly full, head nestled right in the feed tray like it was a memory foam pillow.
It became a daily ritual: snack, snooze, repeat.

And honestly? We’re 99% sure that chick was Aurora.
Even as a baby, her love for food was unmatched.

Fast forward to today, and grown-up Aurora is the biggest hen in the flock, still first to the food bowl, and absolutely convinced every red bucket contains her next snack. Whether it’s grain or the occasional mouse (yes, she’s that hen), Aurora lives for a good meal.

Turns out, some things never change.
Especially when you’re born to be a foodie.
